Easter decorating

(Easter decorating in Prague's Old Town Square)

Growing up in a small country town, my only thought of Easter was about Easter Sunday and the arrival of chocolate easter eggs. No one ever imaged that you could decorate your home at Easter time (just like Christmas!)

Then 14 years ago I spend an Easter in Prague and discovered the amazing Easter Markets.

No Easter has ever been the same since.

The Easter Fairy

Our place looks as if the Easter Fairy has been to visit. After 2 very busy days I am now ready to sit back and enjoy the Easter break with my family and friends. The groceries, the seafood, the wine and easter eggs have all been bought.

And the house......it's shiny clean and decorated!

Our easter tree in the main living area.

Bunny books and chirpy chickens.

Our easter tree sits on this beautiful tablecloth, a gift from France.

The 'kids can't touch' Easter tree. Filled with (real handblown, handpainted) eggs I bought when I spent an Easter in Prague. Oh, and there's a few from France and Estonia that have been given to me as gifts.

I hope everybody has a lovely Easter.

Easter already!

Wow! 2 days until Easter, how did this happen?

I have had such a busy week, rushing here, rushing there?

I dragged out the Easter decorations on the weekend, but somehow they are still sitting in the corner of the lounge room. I still have Good Friday and Easter Sunday lunches to plan and shop for, easter crafts to organise, easter eggs to buy, chocolates to make and a chocolate cake to bake.

Yes, I am feeling very much the flustered white rabbit indeed.

I better go and get this place feeling Eastery!

Snow White goes to Vietnam

Nanny arrived back from Vietnam on Tuesday. Her travel adventures sounded so exciting that Snow White has packed her bags and going travelling herself.

"Look Mum, Snow White is going on a big plane to Vietnam. She has packed her bags, she has her jarmies in this one and her dresses in this one and her coat for the cold in this one."

She sounds very organised! Have fun Snow White.

Speaking of Barbie roll play, this Barbie, I'm told is sneaking out the window of the dolls house.

"You know Mum, just like in your Mummy movie, the one where the little boy's mummy died"

A moment later I realised that she was talking about Sophia Loren in the movie "HouseBoat"

Oh, we do love our old movies and Barbies in this house!

Blues skies

Blue skies at last!

On Wednesday I walked out into the back yard to see this. I hope it lasts! I know the rain was good, but I'm a bit over it.

Spoilt rotten

Well, we have been lucky ducks around here this week, with a bit of spoiling going on.

My mum arrived home from a 2 week holiday in Vietnam. I was just happy to have her home. I can't tell you my surprise when I saw what she produced from her bag for our little family. Bags, scarves, dresses, t-shirts, stamps, little statues, big statues, a photo album, christmas decorations, a hat and linen.

Thank-you mum for your generosity, it was so unexpected.

These also arrived for me in the mail.

Beautiful paper by Laikonik and Korean stamps from Etsy. This was me spoiling me.

Dream home

I spent today in my office. Phoning, emailing, updating, sorting, filing. I was on hold forever on one of those phone calls, so I popped over to Design Sponge and spotted Emerson and Ryan's amazing house.

I am in loooove!

This is the perfect kitchen.

And the pantry! I live just for the day when I will have a walk in pantry like this one.

Dinner at this table. Yes please.

Just beautiful.
